WHAT WE DO ?
Our priority job is to help abandoned or in many cases injured stray animals to rehabilitate and find them an adoptive family. If possible, we get them off the street by putting them in foster care or a pet boarding house. If necessary, after regular treatment, we provide vet care and at the and finally we put them for an adoption. Other than that, we organize charity events, socially support and promote animal welfare, make mini commercial projects and fund raising for our dogs and cats.
Medical care
We organize vet care, basic check up and treatment (heart-worm/flea prevention, dog de-wormer pills, etc) followed by vaccines and spay/neuter, or in some cases special vet care, surgery or similar.
The treated dogs, specially puppies are important to be fostered during that time, otherwise it is difficult to cure them. However, there is a lack of quarantined boarding houses in Serbia. Normal costs of temporary housing are 50 eur/month in average.
Adoptions
We use free adds to find permanent homes for our animals: social networks, adoption events, TV adds section (limited), partners web sites and bulletin boards.
Adoption is slow and unlikely. Sometimes, pets are adopted internationally, specially pets with deformities or disability. Adoption contract is mandatory.
Until now, we found homes for approx 500 abandoned animals and spayed/neutered over 200 of them.
Voluntery work
Our work depends solely on our voluntary work and collected donations. Some of our animals are in foster care provided by volunteers, some are accommodated in private payable boarding houses for pets and few are still in the street.
Very often we use private means (car, income, items) to the purpose of our association.
Fundraising
Monthly expenses per dog are approx 65 - 130 eur, that's 50 eur for pet boarding house, 15-40 eur for food (some animals require higher quality food), and 50 eur in average for veterinary check-ups including pet taxi transfer.
Without donations our work would be impossible. Therefore, we are finding ways to collect funds and donations through various charity events, partnerships, social networks and fundraising concepts.
